Introduced in 1996, our knot-button shirt is one of our most iconic, brand-defining styles. Its distinctive buttons (made with knotted fabric) and timeless design made it a signature piece of the brand for years.

Since our start, our in-house design team has always strived to offer unique outerwear to complement our apparel. During development of this coat, they selected a fabric that looked and felt luxurious. As they worked through their final design, they deliberately chose not to line the coat—they really wanted to give the fabric its “moment.” It was a bold design choice—they knew they didn’t need to “hide” anything. This coat offered wonderful warmth, softness and a beautiful fluid drape. Its sophisticated, goes-with-everything design made it an instant best seller.

We’ve built our reputation (and your loyalty) on the distinctive details we add to our clothing—and it’s true that the smallest details make the difference. Our simple cottage pocket was the detail that was so wildly popular, we offered it on everything from jeans to soft Tencel™-blended styles to cords. For our anniversary, we’ve brought it back on pants made from a cotton-rich blend with the perfect amount of stretch.

Launched in 2008, the kimono-sleeve sweater is the epitome of the Pure Jill design aesthetic. It embodies the collection’s understated elegance with its simple shape and fabric-first design. Over the years, we’ve offered various fabrications (our most luxurious in 100% cashmere) and colors. We saw that women fell in love with the ease of this sweater and integrated it into their wardrobes as a signature style. Month after month, our dedicated kimono lovers would add a new one to their collection.

In the late 1990s we created our feminine take on the barn jacket. Originally designed in soft washed wide-wale corduroy, this style became so popular we refreshed it annually with new details like velvet trim or a back pleat. To this day, we’re thrilled when we see a customer come into one of our stores with our original (and much-loved) style. This very special rerelease is for all the customers who continually ask our associates, “Can you bring back the tumbled-cord coat?”
