Looks like crushed velvet after 1st wash

Washed according to directions and the fabric looks like crushed velvet. Nothing I could do to smooth the massive fabric wrinkles to make it look like it did initially. Sad. The fit was great but the fabric did not hold up. Perhaps dry cleaning would avoid this. Sending it back.

I just purchased this top and loved its fit. Everything was perfect. I always wash items before wearing them because of allergies. I washed it according to the directions, and it came out like crushed velvet and dried that way. What to do now???

Beautiful fabric but shapeless and an odd length: too long for a tunic and too short for a minidress. I wear it belted with leggings and wonder if I should have sized down on this one.
