This skirt can be worn fancy as a dress item or casual with a t and sandals in the summer. Unfortunately, due to the horrible winter we are having in Chicago, I have not been able to wear this yet. I can't wait for warmer weather to see how many ways I can wear this J. Jill item this Spring.

The waist is a bit big and shapeless, but I wear my shirts and sweaters out over my skirts, so this is not a big deal. This skirt does have a nice drape and a good length. I do wish the fabric was a bit dressier. It seems like tee shirt material. I would like to see the Wearever Line in a slightly heavier, drapier fabric like it used to be. At this price point, it should not feel like a thin tee shirt. I own a lot of Wearever and the older pieces are much more substantial. I would still recommend this skirt for everyday casual wear. Just don't count on it to look dressy at all.

This skirt is a nice length for me. I am 5'5 in height & it falls perfectly, meaning not too long. The material is very comfortable on my skin.

...the waist is too big. Yes, there is elastic, in the waist, but it's still the same perimeter as the sides and bottom of the skirt. I'd really like a little smaller waist measurement, please. That said, overall, the skirt is very nice: drapey, soft fabric, good length (I'm 5'5"), and very comfortable.
And yes, I can always safety pin the waist. Hence the 4 stars...

Normally a size 8. Had previously gotten a small in the store and it was OK but kind of long and baggy. Found it online in small petite (I am 5'4"). The small petite looks amazing! great with boots or heels, tunics, jackets, you name it. Will be great for travel and will go with absolutely anything.

One day I will learn my lesson - I keep purchasing these straight silhouette skirts hoping they will work for me - they don't. Nice wearever skirt, but think elongated pencil skirt. If you have a booty or a tummy, this one fits tight like it was a pair of Spanx! Going up a size means the waist is too large. Also, if you want to wear a slip with the skirt, the slit will show the slip unless you can find just the right slip with a slit that goes up pretty high. Otherwise, the skirt is typically nice Wearever type material and finishing.

This straight skirt fits me perfectly, which is unusual for a skirt. It looks charming with many tops, and the cut is so slimming. I think Jill should do more long straight or pencil skirts.

The online and picture catalogs definitely made it look like a much nicer skirt. The material is flimsy and it attracts a lot of stuff on it. I like a skirt that I don't have to wear a slip with and this one clings terribly. The material wasn't all that nice. Overall, it was a real disappointment, especially for J. Jill clothing-I feel I could have bought a skirt like this in a bargain store for about $10.
