The sweater is lightweight and can be worn over a camisole or layered over a turtleneck in cooler weather. It fits true to size and the embroidering makes it feel very elegant. When we offered this cardigan originally, in the spring of 2012, we also offered a cami in the same Saffron color. We have sold through our stock of all layering pieces in that color. It seems like your suggestion of a tan or neutral color would be the best choice. Check out the colors Porcini or Stone in our Perfect Tank.
