Rated 5 out of 5 by Same fit as past years I have been wearing the Tried and True fit jeans in 6T boot cut for several years. This is my first pair of slim legs and unlike some other reviewers, they seem to fit basically the same. The waist might be a tiny bit higher. I like the thinner denim and the stretch. I find them much more comfortable than jeans with thick stiff denim. I am glad to be able to order them in tall lengths, even though I then have to pay for shipping and hemming since I am in between regular and tall inseam. (so tired of hearing petites complain when things are too long--at least they can shop at petite departments in many stores!) I wish JJill made this fit in cords and other pants as well, since they are the only ones that fit me. October 13, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not the Same Tried and True Jeans! These do not fit the same way, the fabric is thin, they don't feel or look like jeans. I loved the Tried and True jeans, but these imposters are going back. October 5, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Finally, a pair of pants that fit!!! After months of looking for a pair of slim black pants, I stopped in JJill to try yet another pair. I have long legs for my size (2) and I couldn't get most slim fit pants over my calves! The tried and true slim leg jeans were perfect! I ended up buying the black and denim. If there were more colors available I would have bought them all. I wore them all day today and they are so comfortable - not too thick and heavy. They have just the right amount of stretch. I live in Arizona and it's still in the 90's in October so most jeans are too hot. I love, love, love these!!! October 3, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Happy Camper I'm reviewing size 20W. This is my first J Jill jean purchase. This size is not offered in stores. Needing new black jeans I took a chance and ordered on line. The denim is lightweight, soft and holds its shape. No baggy knees or thighs after wearing. Sits slightly above my waist and is not too short in the seat area. I like the elastic insets in the back. It eliminates any gaping. All the things I look for in a jean are here. I'm used to heavier denim and thought it seemed cheap at first but I have to say it is more comfortable. I don't feel squashed like a sausage. True to size on me. At 5' 9" the regular length is fine. September 25, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Horrible I have only worn JJill jeans for the past 6 yrs due to the fit. They are the only jeans which I'm not swimming in, especially the thighs. UNTIL I bought these! How can I be a snug size 6 for yrs, and these (6;s) are so baggy! The legs are big and the waist is loose. Now I have to pay for return shipping. NOT HAPPY! September 22, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Black Wash doesn't last I bought these jeans about a year ago. Note to file....black wash washes out!!!! They were barely noticeable black to begin with and now are just your basic blue denim jeans. What I would do for a nice pair of yarn died black denim jeans. That's as classic a look as blue. Puhleaze!!! September 19, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Ridiculously Tight Waist The color of these jeans is great. They're actually black jeans, which are hard to find. Usually, black jeans are more like a faded black. These are a great dark color. But, the waist is extremely tight. The fit is very high on the waist, and I had to pull these up to the very smallest part of my waist to get the jeans to button. For reference, I ordered a 16. They have stretch, so you could sit without popping the button. But, I'm not sure I want to keep another pair of standing room only pants. An 18 would probably fit just right in the waist but be too big in the legs. The rest of the fit was okay. The legs had a lot of extra material, so you'd have to push the pants down at the ankle if you don't want the bunching on your thighs. Not sure that I'll be keeping these. If the Authentic fit came in black, I would prefer those. Although, all of J.Jill jeans have far too much spandex or whatever it is in them. 100% cotton jeans would be so great to see again. I don't know anybody who still makes those. September 17, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by ENTIRE JEAN IS DIFFERENT After purchasing 4 pair of tried and true jeans in the past 1-1/2 they became my favorite jeans. The new design with the elastic in the waistband and lightweight material just doesn't work. The material is too thin and feel slightly low quality and the waistband, though I understand the concept, just doesn't work. These jeans just don't work for me. The general design is different as I held these side to side the crotch area is longer than before and the waistband lower. PLEASE RETURN TO THE ORIGINAL DESIGN. PLEASE. September 16, 2014
