I tried this dress on in white (there were no other colors in the store) and it was just too adorable to pass up, but I was worried about the "dry clean only" care instructions and inquired of the J. Jill store manager as to why a linen dress would be dry clean only (and the white color would mean constant dry cleaning). She said that it can be hand-washed in cold water - drip dry, and that the "dry clean only" label was because of the embroidered hem. Hope this information is correct and helpful.

She even said it could be machine-washed in the gentle cycle, but I'm not going to take that risk. In my experience, dry-cleaning is not fool-proof -- I have gotten a couple of garments ruined by the dry-cleaner, when I would have been better off spot-cleaning myself or even hand-washing.

I tried on this dress in the store a few days ago - even before it was listed online. Yes, I found the top of it to be fitted. I always buy 1, if not 2, sizes down in JJill clothing, but this dress runs true to size. I plan to buy it in XL petite (the store doesn't stock xlp). In major manufacturers' sizes/department store clothes, I wear a 16P but usually buy MP or LP in JJill cardigans & dresses.

The bodice back is plain, no pin tucking. I did find the bodice too fitted for me, however, in my normal size small. Unfortunately, the medium was too large.

No pintucking on the bodice back, but there are two vertical darts.
