The newer cut (slimmer in the upper leg) fits me much better. This pair is also is a bit lighter weight making it perfect for the slightly warmer weather - I save heavy jean wear for the winter. It seems when I order from j.jill on line I receive a variety in quality when it comes to jeans - they are not all made in the same place but I got lucky this time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MJo62 These jeans fit & look great - however after 1 wash it appears that there is a weakening of the fabric which looks like it's going to turn into a hole
Next to the zipper where there are lighter 'wrinkle lines' it appears the fabric is failing - a disappointment since the jeans fit very well - and look great - I would recommend if I didn't have to think about sending them back -

I guess I thought the first pair were a mistake. But, no, they are just too long for petite me. Even in my clogs I'm stepping on the backs. Now I'll have to get out the sewing machine. Once upon a time I bought this style and they fit me perfectly - don't think I've shrunk this much.

I got the size that all my other JJill pants are but these are slighty bigger. I have to wear a belt but they are comfortable and I didn't have to hem them so thats a plus!

I love this brand so much, I purchased several items for a friend. While I adore your XS Petite fashions, she wears your large misses sizes. Was happy with the fit , then washed them and they were at least 2 inches shorter than pre-wash , unable to wear anymore .

I love the way these jeans fit -- they hug in all the right places without being skin-tight, they sit below the waist on the hips but not too far down, and the color is just faded enough but not too much -- very cool. I just wish J. Jill made their pants in different lengths -- these would've gotten 5 stars from me if they weren't so long. But they were on sale so I couldn't leave them behind, and I broke my usual rule about not wanting to hem them...
