Our Tried & True Jeans are designed to sit higher on the body than the Authentic Fit, especially in the back, giving more coverage. The fabric for the Tried & True is slightly lighter-weight than the Authentic Fit and it has a bit more stretch (and great recovery). The sizing is similar to the Authentic Fit, so you will likely wear the same size in both jean styles.

These fit slim the old fashioned way but the "tried and true" fit like leggings almost. they also tend to stretch out duringthe day more ("tried and true"do)

Authentic fit, which I don't like, sits at the waist and is slightly fitted through the hips. It has a touch of stretch.

Tried and true fits higher in the back, and is slightly fitted through the hips and thighs. And it has more stretch.

From what I could tell, the T & T had a bit less stretch and didn't work as well with my "straight up & down" body type. I think they might work better for someone with a few more curves. And they weren't as comfortable. Be that as it may, I probably would have purchased them if I hadn't bought the authentic fits.

For me the difference is in the rise of the pants and how it sits on the hips. They both are sitting below the waist but the cut on the hips is different. I am very short (4' 10.5") but am broad in the hip area so most of the time I have to be careful of were the pants hit just below the waist.
The authentic fit gives more room.

the tried and true have a little more room but still fit well. They both look ok to tuck into boots.
