Rated 5 out of 5 by thanks for bringing back tried and true!! I love the fit, fabric and length of these jeans! There is just enough stretch and I like the lighter weight denim. November 5, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Most comfortable jeans I've ever worn! These jeans have the best stretchy fabric of any jeans I've ever worn. The never sag or get baggy, and they are as comfortable as yoga pants. In fact, I practice yoga at home and I find it completely comfortable to do my morning sun salutations in these jeans. Plus they look great! November 5, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great fabric, tremendous leg length The lighter weight denim is perfect for indoor wear and the length, unless you're a professional basketball player, will require heels (a good thing for indoor weight jeans). Wish a 35-year-old body came w/ the jeans, so likely will go back while I stick w/ more conservative style pants. May 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Tried & True is a perfect fit! Every time I put a pair of Tried and True pair of denim on, it's a permit fit ! I love the slimming style and the boot cut look at the bottom, just perfect for my figure and a Rock 'N Roll flare to it! May 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice feeling on the jeans material These jeans have a nice light feel for jeans. I think that I could actually wear them in the summer. They look nice and fit well. The only issue is that they are a little long and so I need to wear heels or get them taken up. May 15, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best fitting jeans I have had in years! They keep their shape and do not bag at the knees or seat. The fabric is very soft and comfortable. I usually wear a 10P in jeans from other stores but the 8P fit perfectly in these jeans. I will be buying another pair. May 12, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by The tried and true boot cut jeans are very nice. I really like these jeans; they are lighter and fit snug but not tight, meaning they don't gap at the waist and other places but they also aren't skin tight. They are a bit long for petites but guess that means i just have to buy a new pair of summer heels! April 14, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great for Spring! These jeans are a perfect fit and a great purchase for Spring. The denim is a lighter weight. April 5, 2013

What is the lycra content on this fabric?

I like a really stretchy blue jean. I'm wondering how stretchy this fabric actually is?

Just enough elasticity to move with you. It will loosen up as the day progresses but does not lose its shape. Most comfortable jeans I've ever worn.

2% Lycra spandex. I love the stretch in these jeans. I could live in them. The fabric is thinner than usual denim (I don't think it's really denim at all), but looks like a nice jean.

Don't know the lycra content, probably on the website. They are very stretchy, but do not give an overall "jeggings" look...they appear as truly nice blue jeans.

There is a lot of stretch, but they don't lose their shape -- I think it's the perfect combo! The fabric is light-weight but not too delicate.

Our Tried & True Jeans are designed to sit higher on the body than the Authentic Fit, especially in the back, giving more coverage. The fabric for the Tried & True is slightly lighter-weight than the Authentic Fit and it has a bit more stretch (and great recovery). The sizing is similar to the Authentic Fit, so you will likely wear the same size in both jean styles.

I love the Tried and True jean - the fabric is thinner than usual denim, but they look fantastic, fit great, are so comfortable I could live in them. The "authentic boot cut" just didn't fit right. They have a truer denim, but the tall size was too short, and they didn't fit my hips well.

I just bought both of these pants. THe tried and True is very soft, light weight denim (tencil?) and has a higher waistline. THe authentic boot cut was a more coarse denim (still soft) and had a lower waistline with thicker banding. It was not too low as some of jeans can be. I got a size 12 and felt that they were flattering.

This is Sara from J. Jill. Thank you for your question!

The rise measurements on our pants will vary depending on size. The rise measurements of the Tried & True Boot-Cut Jeans in Tall sizes ranges from 9 3/4” for the front rise and 14 1/4” for the back rise on a size 4T, to 12 3/4" for the front rise and 17 1/4" for the back rise on a size 20T. This is a difference of 1/4” from our Misses sizes.

I don't know what the Misses rise is, but I wear the Tall size - the rise was very nice for me. The zipper is a little longer, and the pants come a little higher on the hips - not up to the waist, but comfortably higher, which I like. Also, the crotch was not too tight, but also not half-way to my knee like some "tall" pants are. They were just perfect for me.

I didn't notice a difference between the regulars I tried on in the store, and the tall pair I ordered. A relief, because too often 'tall' sizes add the length in the torso, and not in the leg -- this pant has a 35" inseam in tall, (size 4), and fits me wonderfully - -I LOVE these jeans!!
